Submissions Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

The Blog Submissions are now closed!! Thank you for thinking of me!

For those interested, here were the original guidelines:

The Creative Coping Blog is an online literary blog where people in chronic pain can share their writing with others. I will publish works as I receive them.

General Guidelines:
1. I ask that only people who are living or have lived with chronic pain submit their work.
2. I accept poetry, creative nonfiction (including essays), and fiction related to chronic pain. These pieces do not have to be exclusively descriptions of physical aspects of chronic pain, but should relate to chronic pain in some way.
3. Please e-mail all submissions, in the form of an attached word document, to:

creativecopingblog@yahoo.com

4. In an effort to respect patient privacy, I am giving participants the option to either remain anonymous or take credit for the writing that will be published. If you would like to take credit for your writing, please include a brief (approximately 200 word) biography in your e-mail. If you would like to remain anonymous, please indicate that in the e-mail.
5. Indicate in the e-mail the title and genre of each selection.
6. Submit up to four original pieces of writing.
7. I do not accept previously published work.
8.  Submission lengths:
            Poetry: 800 words or less
Creative nonfiction: 15 pages or less
            Fiction: 15 pages or less

If your work is accepted, it will appear on both the front page and the “published writing” page of this blog. I will also notify you via e-mail, and I will ask for your approval of any editorial changes I make before I publish it.

As this blog is part of an honors undergraduate project, any work that is published on the blog may be shown or discussed at academic meetings. For more information about this project, please see the about this project page.

Thank you for your submissions. I could not accomplish this project without your support, and I greatly appreciate each submission.
